PEC, an international technology supplier committed to advancing the production of green batteries for a Blue Planet, is seeking a Global IT Architect to join our team in Penang, Malaysia. This senior role is instrumental in defining and supporting the global IT systems that enable PEC to deliver and scale large‑scale battery manufacturing solutions worldwide. Key Responsibilities
To (re) design, implement, and support a secure, and high-performance upgrade of our IT and network infrastructure across all PEC operations, worldwide, supporting business, engineering and manufacturing needs in a rapidly growing, highly demanding environment. The position is based in Penang, Malaysia and reports directly to the COO for Southeast Asia.
We are looking for a hands-on professional, passionate about reliability, efficiency, security, and modern best practices in IT, including frameworks such as ITIL. Regular global travel to international PEC sites is required.
Develop a highly reliable, secure, and efficient IT architecture upgrade, aligned with our business, engineering, and manufacturing needs.
Provide technical leadership for reliable and secure enterprise application connectivity, including ERP systems (e.g. SAP), CAD platforms, and Microsoft environments.
Protection of company IP through advanced security systems and measures on a global scale.
Troubleshoot complex, multi-layer infrastructure and application performance issues across geographically distributed sites
Continually improve, harmonize and standardize global IT processes, service levels, monitoring, and operational excellence
Lead infrastructure lifecycle planning, modernization, and global improvement initiatives
Travel regularly to international sites to support deployments, assessments, and technical coordination
Experience & Qualifications
Master Degree with an IT background
Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in IT infrastructure and network architecture in an international environment.
Experience supporting enterprise-scale applications, knowledge of SAP is a plus.
Familiarity with engineering CAD systems and their infrastructure and performance requirements
Strong experience in service management, including incident, problem, and change management. Knowledge of best practices like ITIL is a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis
