We are looking for a Senior Human Resources Generalist to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future. The role is based at our new site in Penang, Malaysia. By joining us, you will contribute to building the first large scale battery factories in Asia, Europe and the United States.
Your tasks
We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Senior Human Resources Generalist to oversee all HR operations and people strategies for our Malaysia office. This role is responsible for driving HR excellence, ensuring legal compliance, developing talent, and fostering a high-performance culture aligned with PEC’s global objectives
Key Responsibilities
HR Operations & Compliance Execution
Manage end-to-end HR operational activities including payroll coordination, benefits administration, and maintenance of accurate employee records.
Ensure stringent compliance with all Malaysian labour laws, statutory regulations, and internal company policies.
Serve as the primary point of contact for all HR administrative inquiries and processes.
Talent Acquisition Support & Onboarding
Execute the full recruitment lifecycle for a wide range of positions, from sourcing and screening to offer management
Coordinate and facilitate a seamless and engaging onboarding experience for all new hires.
Support employer branding initiatives and contribute to building a strong local talent pipeline.
Performance & Development Coordination
Administer and support the performance management cycle, providing guidance to managers and employees.
Coordinate training and development programs in alignment with identified site needs.
Assist in activities related to employee engagement, retention, and career development.
Employee Relations & Culture Advocacy
Act as a trusted advisor by providing first-line support and guidance on employee relations matters, policy interpretation, and conflict resolution.
Manage disciplinary and grievance procedures in accordance with company policy and legal requirements.
HR Partnership & Project Contribution
Partner closely with local managers to provide hands-on HR support and implement people solutions that meet business needs.
Collaborate effectively with the global HR team to share local insights and roll out corporate HR programs and initiatives.
Participate in and support local and regional HR projects as required.
The ideal candidate has
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in HR, Business Administration or a related field
Over 5 years of experience as an Senior HR Generalist or Similar leadership role
In-depth knowledge of Malaysian Employment Act, industrial relations, and HR best practices.
Proven ability to manage recruitment, employee relations, and compliance matters.
Result driven, aiming for success in a competitive recruitment world
Excellent communication skills in English
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
